On June 11th, 2017, I travelled down to Washington DC to perform a demonstration piece, as part of a greater series, ‘Blood Work’, that deals with the issue of the FDA’s policies and regulations on queer blood donation, which is expressed via visual metaphors and symbology, as well as performance.
I worked with a small team of about 7 individuals who assisted me in the performance, which was held at DuPont Circle. The work was documented through film as well as photography and will eventually be edited into a short video installation.
I am currently seeking to connect with anyone who would like to get involved with future demonstrations, with the next performance location being the FDA Headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, hopefully before the end of the year.
We need as much support as possible to make this happen! If you would like to get involved, please sign up to the mailing list!
